If you can tell me how many beeps you get I can probably tell you what is wrong. Be more precise :-) The bios reports booting up problems as beeps, and the number and type (short, long) tells exactly what the problems is. -- Cheers, Carlos Robinson

Are you getting any display at all? Reseat the memory. Do you know what your BIOS is? When you boot up (assuming you have any display at all), the very top thing you'll see is the name of the BIOS - Award, etc. Then notice the pattern and count of the beeps - they are a code. This is a hardware issue, and SuSE didn't cause it. Also, run the machine open and look at the processor fan - is it running? The multiple beeps can mean that the processor is overheating. Post back with more precise info for more help. Malke -- Elephant Boy Computers www.elephantboycomputers.com Don't Panic!

If you are getting five beeps it is more than likely a CPU failure, especially if repeated.
