[S.u.S.E. Linux] fs-quota makes the server CRASH badly !!

I'm administrating a WWW & FTP server on the Internet (it's a student site ;-) We are using S.u.S.E. 5.0 with kernel 2.0.33 (nestea- & ipfrag-patched), and it works fine BUT... I compiled fs quota support into the kernel and configured the quota for a dummy user that can't telnet nor ftp in, so I can copy his quota parameters to new users through the "edquota -p dummy -u newuser" command... It went fine (I used WebMin 0.51 to do it, but that's not the point) and suddenly, 3 days later, the server crashed badly !!! I had to bake a new kernel (the same but without quota support) to be able to boot the box again !! :-( Anyone had this problem before ?? Is there a patch or something ? Thanx ev'rybody...
