[opensuse] Logitech quickcam messenger - different versions
Hi, I have bought Logitech QuickCam Messenger, as it was listed as a supported device in the hardware compatibility page: <http://en.opensuse.org/HCL/Web_Cameras> Now, as I already have it, I discover that there are (at least) 2 versions in production - with USB IDs: 046d:08da - this is the one, supported by the spca driver, included with opensuse and 046d:08f6 - this one I bought, and it is supported by the qca driver, which I need to compile myself. The driver worked OK (i.e. I can use the camera with kdetv, lets say), but does not work with the new skype. So, I decided that is it much faster if I return this product and try to by the version which is reported to work - the one supported by opensuse (046d:08da). Now, does someone have this camera? Have you tried it with skype? How do I "visually" make a difference - so I do not buy again the wrong one? Any product number at least, etc.? Thanks -- Svetoslav Milenov (Sunny) Even the most advanced equipment in the hands of the ignorant is just a pile of scrap. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
