[opensuse] how to set/specify RAID metadata version in partitioner?
hi, OS's partitioner installs RAID with metadata superblock version 1.0, by default. from cmd line, i can easily create/install RAID with other versions -- e.g., "super 1.2". @install, however, using partitioner, how/where is the metadata version set? specifically, if i want to install with v1.2 -- where's that specified? i've likely missed an obvious setting ... :-/ thanks. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

I think you'll have to do it manually, i.e. swap to shell and create the raids yourself. /Per -- Per Jessen, Zürich (3.8°C) -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

thanks.
What is the difference between the different metadata versions ? Is there a comparison or description somewhere ? For 1.0, 1.1 and 1.2, 'man mdadm' shows some differences in the location of the metadata, but is that it ? And what are the advantages ? Just curios. /Sylvester -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
