Re: [opensuse] Writing coments on photos
Again, much ado about not much. If I want to notate pictures, I use gimp to either write on them or I add a bottom margin and put the info there. That way I can, if desired in some future time, cut the bottom off of the picture. Obviously I am not such a purist as those who needlessly worry over exif data. These are my pics and the data is for me and the process is simple. YMMV Fred -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Ah! "ON" photos rather than, as we've been discussion, "IN" photos. -- A: Yes. > Q: Are you sure? >> A: Because it reverses the logical flow of conversation. >>> Q: Why is top posting frowned upon? -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

some years ago, I made a small script to add comments to photos, in order to have a dvd slideshow (with no sound) http://dodin.info/wiki/pmwiki.php?n=Photo.CEDA jdd -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Well, by not using the EXIF are you force gimp to recode the picture, which is a lossy procedure. On each JPG recoding detail is lost. This can be acceptable in some circumstances, like a slide show as jdd mentions. But is a no-no for archival purposes. -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R. (from 13.1 x86_64 "Bottle" at Telcontar)
