I have a small home network with one server/internet gateway(via adsl/ppptp) and 5 desktop-clients. Among the users of my network there are a few heavy p2p-users. I allready did some traffic-shaping (with cbq.init) to reduse there bandwide consumption, but what I am looking for is a tool/script that makes it possible to log the amount of download/upload traffic per client/internal IP-adress on a daily base;Something like: -------------- date:23-09-03 IP-adress: Download: Upload: Total: x.x.x.1 xx Gb xx GB xx Gb x.x.x.2 yy yy yy x.x.x.3 zz zz zz total: x.x.x.0/24 tt Gb ttGb ttGb ------------- With something like this it would by possible to keep an eye on things and to send a dayly/weekly/monthly e-mail to all the users on the clients about their "internet-use", etc. any suggestion about where to start making this work would be verry welcome.....
Yes, actually I saw those days something that does EXACTLY you need: please check http://bw.intellos.net/ Erik Hajer wrote:

That looks very promissing indeed. I started playing with The IP-Flow Meter (IPFM) right away..... Thanks for the hint, I will let you know when it does what I would like it to do.....
