Why the designation as "Build76.1"?
Leap has a rolling development model during its Alpha and Beta phases. Hence the designation of the build. Plus the .1 gives some options. Someone could probably add more to the reasons if that's what you're asking. There are no concrete milestones in the Leap rolling development model. As bugs are fixed and new packages introduced or excluded, snapshots of the latest beta phase builds will be released once they pass openQA testing. After the gold master and Public Availability of Leap is released, the rolling development model stops; the release then shifts into a supported release with maintenance and security updates until its EOL. v/r Doug

Thanks for the reply. I was guessing it was a developers' version, but not yet the final version of Leap v.15.3... which I think might be basically what you're saying. If so, is the purpose of it for volunteer beta (or alpha) testers? Is the "Public Availability of Leap" an official announcement... that the non-beta version officially available? Most importantly, for the user, for someone who needs a stable system to use and get work done and who can't then test things, would Build76.1 be recommended...? or would it be more advisable to install Leap v.15.2? tia.

You should then use v 15.2 -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R. (from 15.2 x86_64 at Telcontar)
