[SLE] 10.1 and .wmv on amd64
I have almost everything as I want it with the installation of 10.1 on my amd64. But one thing is very annoying. I can't play .vmw files. Well I can play them but the videi is all black and I only hear the sound. This is true both with xine and mplayer. I have the extra codecs installed. Install MPlayer and MPlayer-plugin as 32bit, meaning select i586 in yast,(get the one from Packman), and then you are set. Thanks for the advice. I allready had it installed but reinstalled it anyway. Still the same problem, just sound and a black screen. But I noticed that some .vmw files worked. Are there different .vmw codecs? Well, yes there are different vmw codecs, vmw9 being the "latest" and "greatest"... In my book its the biggest pita of them all. But are you sure you got the i586 version of mplayer installed, and not the x86_64? My mplayer eats anything I throw at it. Does it look like this in smart at your end? http://bildr.no/view/4184 Bjørn -- Check the headers for your unsubscription address For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the archives at http://lists.suse.com Please read the FAQs: suse-linux-e-faq@suse.com
