[opensuse] How to switch to the default Gnome menu
Hi all, I want to switch to the default top pannel of Gnome and not use the new menu in Opensuse. I am visually impaired and I find the classic pannel to be much easier to navigate with the screen reader Orca. How do I do that? You mean the standard gnome menu (Application, Places, System) or the panel at the top? The first one, just look for Menu Bar in the panel applets, in case you mean a top panel, just move the current one to the top (right click on the panel, check Allow Panel to be Moved and in the panel properties select Top). -- Kind Regards -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

If you just want the menu (and have it located on the bottom panel, instead of the Computer menu), right click the Computer menu and click "Remove from panel". Then right click in that space and choose "Add to panel..." and then choose "Menu Bar" If you want the top panel w/ the menu, right click on your bottom panel and choose "New Panel". It should automatically load at the top. The right click, choose "Add to panel" and choose the stuff you want on it. Good luck and thanks for choosing openSUSE ;-) -- Kevin "Yeaux" Dupuy - openSUSE Member Public Mail: <kevin.dupuy@opensuse.org> Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays from the Yeaux! -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

The traditional menu? Ok, once you have the panel where you like it, right click, select "add to panel". In the search input box type "menu", and you will see about six entries, one of which is "Traditional main Menu". There you go, add the menu to the panel, move it to where you like, and delete the "original" menu. Me, I don't like that new age menu, I prefer the traditional one, even though I have good sight. The first thing I do is remove it. - -- Cheers, Carlos E.
