Hello, I am trying NFS mount - on a bunch of 9.1 workstations - a dir that is nfs exported from a 9.0 server. On the server the dir is owned but uid 500 On the client side the user is, of course, uid 1000, and all the files/directories in the mounted file tree show as as owned by UID 100. From many ages ago I remember that it's supposed to be possible to map UIDs some, and I found in the NFS Administrator's Guide that the /etc/exports option "map_static=/path/to/map.file", but when I try this I get errors on the server about that not being a recognized option. Can anyone help with this? Why doesn't that option work - is it for a version of NFS newer than what comes with 9.1? Is there any other way to make the files be seen as UID 1000 on the client side?
