Is apt able to install *.deb packages into a suse system ( would be easier than compiling kde beta stuff from source ).
If you want to install a deb package, download it, and use "alien" to convert it from deb to rpm. This "usually" works fine.. .of course that depends on how the original deb package was created, and what it's prerequisites are... and depends on if the app you're trying to install expects some library or other app in a location that is non-standard on SUSE. So basically... you can try... but there is no 100% guarantee the package will work right after you install. My experience is most will work... but that is with the particular packages I've converted. C.
