Running smartups I get following information. I have no idea what I should change. It was said somewhere in the reading material that it would be a good idea to have this program run under an own name. But how can I change ownership of /dev/ttyS1? I found out that the ownership is right now root/uucp. Could not find the meaning of the abbreviation of uucp but could I create a new group e.g. ups and have the ownership changed to root/ups or ups/uucp ? info from boot.msg <notice>/etc/init.d/rc3.d/S11ups start Starting genericups: Network UPS Tools - Generic UPS driver 0.50 (0.45.1) UPS type: Generic RUPS model This program is currently running as nobody (UID 65534) /dev/ttyS1 is owned by user root (UID 0), mode 0660 Change the port name, or fix the permissions or ownership of /dev/ttyS1 and try again. Unable to open /dev/ttyS1: Device or resource busy
