That is so. Years ago SuSE did sell the boxes directly, in shops, and it was named the "profesional version". That box included a limited installation support contract, by email or phone. It was nice. They stopped doing it, if I recall correctly, when Novel bought SuSE, at the same time as they made the iso images directly downloadable - more or less. For some time you could still buy the box, albeit with a much smaller paper book. Ccontributors got it as a present some times. That stopped too. Then other private companies have them attempted to make a go at selling the box, with permission from SUSE, I understand.
