mine works fine: nfs-kernel-server-2.1.1-1.2.x86_64 and it doesn't require librirpc -- (paka)Patrick Shanahan Plainfield, Indiana, USA @ptilopteri http://en.opensuse.org openSUSE Community Member facebook/ptilopteri Photos: http://wahoo.no-ip.org/gallery2 Registered Linux User #207535 Photos: http://wahoo.no-ip.org/piwigo @ http://linuxcounter.net -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Repo 6 is wrong, it is for 42.1. Seems disabled now. You need now run this: rpm -q -a --queryformat "%{INSTALLTIME}\t%{INSTALLTIME:day} \ %{BUILDTIME:day} %-30{NAME}\t%15{VERSION}-%-7{RELEASE}\t%{arch} \ %25{VENDOR}%25{PACKAGER} == %{DISTRIBUTION} %{DISTTAG}\n" \ | sort | cut --fields="2-" | tee rpmlist \ | egrep -v "openSUSE Leap 42\.2" | less -S That will find packages that do not say they are for Leap. Examine the result. Some will be correct, some will not. (For example, Packman uses a different string). So: rpm -q -a --queryformat "%{INSTALLTIME}\t%{INSTALLTIME:day} \ %{BUILDTIME:day} %-30{NAME}\t%15{VERSION}-%-7{RELEASE}\t%{arch} \ %25{VENDOR}%25{PACKAGER} == %{DISTRIBUTION} %{DISTTAG}\n" \ | sort | cut --fields="2-" | tee rpmlist | \ egrep -v "openSUSE Leap 42\.2" | egrep -v "openSUSE_Leap_42\.2" | less -S

The only added repository you have is a local directory, "/local/OpenOffice/RPMS". You had to add that one manually, yast would never add it on its own. Yeah, I forgot about that one. However, it has nothing to do with openSUSE. I just disabled that 42.1 one. It cleared the nfs issue, but there is still the other issue I mentioned. However, the other problem I mentioned has since cleared.
Then you also had the update repo for 42.1 at some time, later disabled.

you do have more repos than the default install provides. I don't use zypper. I use Yast Software Management to manually add packages. It will advise about repos to be added.
What about the rpm query I posted before? -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R. (from 42.2 x86_64 "Malachite" at Telcontar)

There are recommended updates for nfs-client & kernel server. However, the updates fail with "nothing provides librirpc.so.1()(64bit) needed by nfs-kernel-server-1.3.0-26.x"
Anyone else having this problem? Work arounds, other than not installing?
In which openSUSE?
# grep RETT /etc/os-release PRETTY_NAME="openSUSE Leap 42.1 (x86_64)" # which librir which: no librir in (/sbin:/usr/sbin:/usr/local/sbin:/root/bin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/bin:/bin:/usr/bin/X11:/usr/games:/opt/kde3/bin)
Just wondering why you are doing that search. The error said "nothing provides librirpc.so.1()(64bit)" Which is a library not an executable. On my system the dependency is for libtirpc.so.1()(64bit) Are you sure you haven't confused by (also) making a typo in the library name? -- A: Yes. > Q: Are you sure? >> A: Because it reverses the logical flow of conversation. >>> Q: Why is top posting frowned upon? -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

That is what the error message said. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
