Just wondering, has anyone heard form Fred Miller. Maybe I'm being paranoid but he is in NY if I'm not mistaken and I'm just wondering how he's doing (all things considered). Any info on if all right? TIA - Peace, Curtis

Any info on if all right? if the cornell press site is accurate, he's very likely in ithaca. of course, everyone travels to new york from time to time, and everyone has friends and relatives in new york. -- dep if you want to find the needle in a haystack, burn the haystack.

Also good. But I would go a step further. Please explain how to filter incoming HTML Mails in that way that they are automatically converted to plain text? How should I go and do that? Currently I am using Netscape on Linux but would like to change to mutt as I love command lines... -- *º¤., ¸¸,.¤º*¨¨¨*¤ =Oliver@home= *º¤., ¸¸,.¤º*¨¨*¤ I http://www.bmw-roadster.de/Friends/Olli/olli.html I I http://www.bmw-roadster.de/Friends/friends.html I I http://groups.yahoo.com/group/VGAP-93 I I http://home.t-online.de/home/spacecraft.portal I

a) with mutt you can still read html mail if ypu want to b) you may want to try procmail to convert html to text Untested by me yet since I found this on procmail related search it probably works. :0 B * ()<HTML> * ()</HTML> { conversion = "lynx" # or select this conditionally :0 * conversion ?? lynx { file = "$HOME/tmp/msg.html" LOCKFILE = $file$LOCKEXT :0 bwc | cat - > $file; lynx -dump $file > $file.plain :0 fbwi | cat $file.plain LOCKFILE } :0 E fbw | perl -0777 -pe 's/<[^>]*>//g' } -- Togan Muftuoglu
Hi, In that case just make sure lynx and mutt are installed. Then add the following line to your .muttrc if not already there: # Autoview HTML formatted mail auto_view text/html If your mailcap is set up alright, i.e. it contains something like # HTML text/html; lynx -dump %s; copiousoutput; nametemplate=%s.html ... you can now start mutt and read html mail.
