GeForce 2 and the legacy nvidia driver on SuSE 10.0
Hello, Has anyone been able to install the "legacy" nvidia driver for a GeForce 2 graphics card under 10.0? I can get it to compile, but the installer tells me it can't load the module. I tried with version 6629 and 7174. It seems to me it may be an issue with GCC 4. -- Jean-François Lemaire

I have the same problem. I also tried several versions. The ones that compile fail with dmesg complaining about NVreg_DeviceFileUID . Google was not of much help. Have you gotten this to work? Brana

No, still no go. If I go to runlevel 3, install the driver then go to runlevel 5, the "nvidia" driver is loaded and works as expected, 3D acceleration and all. But after a reboot, X fails to launch and I have to run switch2nv in order to be able to launch X again. So I'm staying with the "nv" driver for the moment. -- Jean-François Lemaire
