[opensuse] Access to SMB share from Konqueror / Krusader in 10.0 fails
I'm (still) using SuSE 10.0 (i386) on my home desktop. Other box runs Win2000 and has a number of shares (directories and printer). When I'm trying to browse smb shares using Konqueror, I see correct workgroup, then correct host name, but after clicking on this host I'm getting the dialog box: Internal Error Please send a full bug report at http://bugs.kde.org libsmbclient reported an error, but did not specify what the problem is. This might indicate a severe problem with your network - but also might indicate a problem with libsmbclient... The same error is returned when I'm trying to connect using Krusader. I had this problem at least with SuSE 9.3 (not sure about 9.2). I then started using Smb4K and it worked perfectly for me, and continues working with 10.0.
From the other side, at office I have SuSE 10.1 and Win2003 server. Krusader and Konqueror work correctly there.
What could it be? Some configuration issue? Could someone advice how to debug it? Thanks, Mark -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Sorry, forgotten to add that mount -t cifs //host/share /mntsmb -o user=<> works as well. So looks like something Konqueror specific. -- Mark Goldstein -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Mark, have you tried entering the entire address to the share? For instance, on my home network I have a box running XP. I open Konqueror and in the address box I type: smb://administrator@192.168.0.5/C$/shared and I immediately am prompted for a username and password. I enter those and have access to the share. - James W. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

That's working! smb://host/share -- OK smb://host -- returns the error. So when I'm browsing and click on host, it actually tries this last form. Thanks! -- Mark Goldstein -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
