I had a similar problem. I used Partition Magic to correct it. I personally consider Partition Magic one of the few Windows based programs I purchase on a regular basis. Note that with any partitioning program, you can also mess everything up. On 29 Mar 2002 at 13:15, tabanna wrote:

Is it windows based ? Last time I checked it boots from floppy, with DR-DOS as the OS. (of course I may be a few revisions down the line, last one we bought was 5.0 I think).
Note that with any partitioning program, you can also mess everything up. Oh yeah ...

Lesson to be leanred here, detach as much hardware from the mobo before flashing it's bios. Ideally only the floppy (for obvious reasons) the videocard (for similarly obvious reasons) and a keyboard should be attached. Keyboard is optional if your bios boots without a keyboard attached, and you have an autoexec.bat (or similar) on your floppy that automatically flushes ;) Kind regards, -- Gerhard den Hollander Phone :+31-10.280.1515 Global IT Support manager Direct:+31-10.280.1539 Jason Geosystems BV Fax :+31-10.280.1511 (When calling please note: we are in GMT+1) gdenhollander@jasongeo.com POBox 1573 visit us at http://www.jasongeo.com 3000 BN Rotterdam JASON.......#1 in Reservoir Characterization The Netherlands This e-mail and any attachment is/are intended solely for the named addressee(s) and may contain information that is confidential and privileged. Is it windows based ? Yes, in that version 7.01 is capable of running native in XP as well as 2K, besides having the capability of making stand-alone self-booting floppies. AFAIK the only supported linux file system types are ext2fs and swap.

Yes, but I had one bad experience with running pqmagic 7 inside winXP. It happened when I tried to move the primary partition containing winXP. As soon as pqmagic reached 95%, it displayed an error message, and my winXp partition was gone...... Lesson learned, to move primary OS (Win*) partition, use DOS-based pqmagic instead launching inside Win*. Except the above, functions like resizing are basically ok to be launched inside WinXP. -- Verdi March --

Try GPART to recover your partitions. Also, be mindful that certain IBM drives are defective from fabrication. Search the relevant websites for reviews on IBM drives. -- Rafael
Hi, have you tried to re-detect the hardisk in the bios? I've seen once that after flashing bios, the hardisk is wrong detected as "normal" where it should be (and previously) "lba" (assume you're not using "auto") -- Verdi March -- --- tabanna <tabanna@aig.forthnet.gr> wrote:
