[SLE] Maximal Mount Count Reached
Sometimes when I turn on linux, it does not mount immediately. A "Maximan Mount Count Reached" message appears and it starts fsck. It happens even when I have turned off Linux properly. Is it a problem? After so many reboots it does it no matter how you turn the machine off. It's a safety measure. * Tazio Ceri (praisetazio@tiscalinet.it) [000819 12:39]: -->Sometimes when I turn on linux, -->it does not mount immediately. -->A "Maximan Mount Count Reached" message -->appears and it starts fsck. --> -->It happens even when I have turned off -->Linux properly. --> -->Is it a problem? --> -->Tazio --> --> -->-- -->To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com -->For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com -->Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/support/faq --> -- Cheers, Ben Rosenberg mailto:ben@whack.org ------------------------- "The only 'intuitive' interface is the nipple. Yeah, I know that! :) I was just telling him basically that he had done nothing wrong when he shut his machine down to cause this behavior :) * Michael Galloway (mgx@ornl.gov) [000819 13:05]: -->Hi Ben! --> -->but it is tuneable. see man tune2fs for the details. --> -->-- me --> -->On Sat, 19 Aug 2000, Ben Rosenberg wrote: --> -->> After so many reboots it does it no matter how you turn the machine -->> off. Next time choose 'ReiserFS' for everything but the /boot partition (and only if the partition is at least, let's say some figure, 300+ MB). -- Michael Hasenstein http://www.suse.de/~mha/ SuSE Linux AG, Nuernberg (Germany) SuSE Inc., Oakland, California (US) -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/support/faq
