I still have problems setting up hardware acceleration on Suse 6.4,2.2.18, XFree86-4.0.1 with 3dfx V3 2000. According to various howto's, it shouldn't be a problem.

Does anybody successfully installed 3dfx V3 with acceleration?
Somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but I think you need kernel 2.4 for XFree86 4.0.x DRI acceleration. Otherwise, you need to downgrade to XFree86 3.3.6 and use glide/mesa3dfx. -jrh

I am using XFree86 4.02 with kernel Suse 2.2.16 with Matrox G400 Dual head and I have DRI enabled even with 32 bpp -- Togan Muftuoglu
