I'm not sure if the same setup that I use on a lan set up (win95 and linux) will work with a PLIP, but since you can telnet, it should. At any rate, my Linux box is the gateway to the internet and the way I set it up was by using Apache as a proxy server and diald to make the connections. It works great! Someone can be on both machines and access the internet at the same time:-) Or someone can access the internet from one machine or the other as well as long as Linux is up and "demand dialing" is active. (I've got it set up via cron so that demandialing via diald is active between 9am and 2:30am and fetchmail picks up the mail at 9:30am and 8:30pm (I changed that from just running fetchmail as a deamon since diald would be dialing out every 10 minutes or so and that was taking up a lot of bandwidth needlessly:-). I've also set up Linux as a cache only nameserver, and that seemed to have cut down on my Win95 box wanting to access the internet all the time:-) Would any of this help? -- cya l8r Leon McClatchey leonmcclatchey@homemail.com Linux User 78912 (Win95 Box) - To get out of this list, please send email to majordomo@suse.com with this text in its body: unsubscribe suse-linux-e Check out the SuSE-FAQ at <A HREF="http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/"><A HREF="http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/</A">http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/</A</A>> and the archiv at <A HREF="http://www.suse.com/Mailinglists/suse-linux-e/index.html"><A HREF="http://www.suse.com/Mailinglists/suse-linux-e/index.html</A">http://www.suse.com/Mailinglists/suse-linux-e/index.html</A</A>>
