Temporary shortage. Also, just heard an interesting rumour that it was because the manufacturers got a little greedy. At least processor prices are still down. Does anyone have an idea why? Nadeem "Ian F. Silver" wrote:

Hi all. I wonder whether SUSE (6.1; 6.2) will recognize "automatically" 128 Mb of RAM ? If negative, how do I fix that and where ?
I wouldn't expect there to be any problems with 128 megabytes at all.
Were you to install more than 1 gigabyte of memory, you would have to recompile your kernel with the 2 gigabyte upper memory threshold option enabled.
I'm currently running 512 megabytes, and tonight will be experimenting by pulling a 128 meg dimm out of that machine and putting it in another. Memory prices have gone insane in the last 2 months so it makes sense to "distribute the wealth" between machines.
