There is a bug in Suse Kernel 2.4.16??
Hi all! I have been using two cd-rw (a Philips 16/10/40 EIDE and a Waitec T-Rex SCSI 16/10/40) plus two cd-rom (Plextor 40x SCSI and an Asus 34x Eide). The Eide stuff is working through scsi emulation. Everything works fine for common reading for all. BUT I am having problems: the couple Asus+Philips has some problem doing dao copies (using cdrdao), it does not always fail: it fails 80% claiming that there is no cd in drive (destination). Also, using cdparanoia on both drives slows the system to death (only 80% of the times!). Using cdparanoia on the SCSI will give me similar problems, but it does not freeze the system. It just slows everything abit when it is trying to read the cd. I also have the same problem doing dao copies on waitec t-rex. The scsi drives are mounted on a different system than eide ones. The only thing in common is the kernel, Suse Kernel 2.4.16. The distro is 7.1 on both cases but I have been using self compiled versions of latest cdrdao and cdrecord on the scsi system. There is something known about this?? Any idea on how to solve it?? Praise
