using 9.2 and cups my printer suddenly stop working cups is running but printer says is down. i try to start vie web but it is asking me for password , i tried my root account did not work. how do i fix this or at least disable the password feature. thanks

It will, if you set it to root's pw. It does *not* have a password until you set it. Aha! Like the rest of us you didnt read the blurb that was presented on
your screen during the install which warns you about this. The problem is
the default for CUPS is to not allow you to change things until you enter
your password, a security thing.
