On my boot menu, which I set up originally to accommodate my having both Windows and Linux on the computer, After some on-line upgrading, I now have an additional menu entry: XEN--openSUSE 10.2-2.6.8.8-03 What is that? It seems to refer to the same OpenSUSE kernel I have as the default. Is there any difference between the two? Any reason to keep the entry? -- Best regards, Dennis J. Xen kernels allow you to start (Host) Xen Virtual Machines (VMs), but they may be less stable in some cases. If you don't need it, you can remove it via Yast. -- -Alexey Eremenko "Technologov" -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

If it is the same as the one that vmlinuz simlink points to, than answer is no. You can remove it from /boot/grub/menu.lst . -- Regards, Rajko. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

It is a XEN kernel, which allows you to set up and run virtual machines: http://en.opensuse.org/Xen Using YaSt (System ->Boot Loader) you can either delete the entry in the boot screen or change the default value. You can create virtual machines via YaST as well - System->Virtual Machine Management (Xen). -- Jonathan Arnold (mailto:jdarnold@buddydog.org) Daemon Dancing in the Dark, an Open OS weblog: http://freebsd.amazingdev.com/blog/ UNIX is user-friendly.
