RE: [SLE] sound card and SuSE 7.1
I use the Soundblaster live with 7.1, with no problems. Installed it with Yast2. I found out that I had to set it up when logged in as root in KDE 2.2 though, to get it working with the arts soundserver. Jostein

===== Dear Mr Joslin, Could you please update me with any response to the problem that you have posted about. I have the exact same problem with a soundblaster card, soundblaster live.
Yast 2 chose the wrong driver, for which the installation fails.
I read the alsa documentation and used the correct driver EMK10? (something like that) when clicking finish to install, this also failed.
I am at a total loss as to what to do now.
Many thanks Neil Briggs

Hi guys,
Having a problem with a Aztec sound card. When I run yast2 it picks it up at Trident Microsystems 4dWave NX, which is cool, but when I press next to confg, it says The Kernel module snd-card-trident for sound support could not be loaded.
In the xconsole I have listed
Kernel: snd : unable to grab IRQ 0 for trident 4dwave PCI
Is there some program that I can use to sort out IRQ conflicts ?
Pete

Dear Jostein, I am glad you didnt have any problems. Unfortunately for me I cannot use YAST 2 . If I do once I have selected the sound blaster card and click on the finish button, for YAST 2 to perform the driver instalation, I get the error 'cannot load the driver' Boo Hoo, no sound. Worst of all I have not been able to correspond here with anybody that may know a possible solution. Kindest regards Neil Briggs On Wednesday 19 September 2001 14:18, you wrote:
