Hi all,
I'm running SuSE 8.1 pro and everytime I try and start kmail the mouse
spins then after approx 30 secs it fails and will not start.
I tried re-installing kmail from dvd disc but still it will not start?
What do I do to figure out what has gone wrong?
Dre

Try running it from a terminal (konsole) by typing kmail [return]. You may see some error message(s) in the terminal. Alternatively, try a tail -f /var/log/messages in the terminal and start kmail as you normally would. sjb
Is there something wrong with kdelibs3 as I notice that alot of /opt/kde3/lib/lib* say (No such file or directory) ??? Does this cause the problem of wht kmail is not starting? You may also want to run kpm, a couple of times I thought kmail wasn't starting up (same symptom you describe) but kpm showed multiple instances of kmail. Once I killed them off I was able to restart kmail w/out a problem. good luck -- dh Don't shop at GoogleGear.com!
Tried that still no joy but pid 7127 says User% 70 system% 22.50 & pid 7126 says 0.00 system% 0.00. Really weird this is as kmail did work when the laptop was in a virgin state...? Still I'm going to keep on investigating..;)

Which kde and suse version are you using? Recent upgrade from kde2 to kde3? I had some problems running suse7.2 after upgrading from kde2.2 to kde3...Just a thought. Good Luck -- dh Don't shop at GoogleGear.com!
