Et tu Fred? Have to wait till Monday for mine...But this is quite interesting, have not heard much, if any, moaning... Ben is happy too. So what am I going to break? :) Just don't remember this list being so happy with a release like this... Has SuSE Linux reached new heights? Or are we still too early to tell? It reminds me a lot so far of how stable 7.2 was for me. :) -- Ben Rosenberg ---===---===---===--- mailto:ben@whack.org Tell me what you believe.. I'll tell you what you should see.

I'm just hoping that SuSE keeps this sort of release structure going, unlike that Other Linux Company, who recently decided to make their "consumer" version a continuously-running beta. I hoping the fact that SuSE 8.2 is much more solid release than Pink Sombrero 9 shows up in the commercial revenue department. I'm a *long* time Scarlet Cap user, and I have become completely disenchanted with their 8 and 9 releases. Just try taking a look through their email lists. It's a totally different situation. The majority of the messages there are like, "Foo is broken; how do I fix it?" The majority of the messages in this list are like, "Hey, I'm trying something new; how do I do this?" There's a part of me that wants to stay with the biggest Linux company, but not at the expense of quality. I could go on. Someday, I really need to vent my spleen about the situation. The bottom line is that I think SuSE 8.2 is great, and when it comes to commercial consumer distros, I think they're going to run away with market share. At least I voted with my dollars. -- dk
