Hi, SuSErs! I got SuSE 8.0 Personal and installed it. Since I couldn't use an Internet(I have a cable modem and notebook), I've been trying to install pcmcia-cs...yep, I decompressed and run 'make config'...they asked me about 'linux kernel source directories'... Where is that? Not /usr/src/linux....? I couldn't find it... I just found 'PACKAGES and PCMCIA-CS-3.2.1' Please let me know the way to figure it out Best Regards, Shin, _________________________________________________________________ MSN Photos is the easiest way to share and print your photos: http://photos.msn.com/support/worldwide.aspx

A few more details would be really helpful. What error message? What happens exactly? What extra packages? What version of SuSE? What hardware? ISDN, DSL, ADLS? We may be smart on this list, but not clairvoyant. cheers jalal

Should look like this: lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 17 Apr 19 22:33 linux -> linux-2.4.18.SuSE Also you should just install the pcmcia package from the disk, not from source. You'll probably have to change /etc/sysconfig/pcmcia, from kernel to external too. -- _ _ __ _____ _____ ___| |_ | '__| / __\ \ /\ / / _ \/ _ \ __| -o) | | _ \__ \\ V V / __/ __/ |_ /\\ |_|(_) |___/ \_/\_/ \___|\___|\__|_\_v rsweet@garagenetworks.net "unix soit qui mal y pense."

If you want kernel sources, you'll need to explicitly install them. -- JAY VOLLMER JVOLLMER@VISI.COM TEXT REFS DOUBLEPLUSUNGOOD SELFTHINK VERGING CRIMETHINK IGNORE FULLWISE
