Hi list, I own an old iMac "blueberry" and tried to install beta4. I booted from CD and the YaST came up and worked well, but at the end it wants to install the bootloader...and it failed. The HD was empty, cleaned with a "dd" before. Trying a Debian Sarge install worked out-of-the-box. -- mdc

I just re-install on ppc and its the same. The HD is a mac-disk: hda1: Apple hda2: bootstrap hda3: swap hda4: Debian hda5: SuSE If I try to change the type, I get an error, that I must choose a location before. The options are: MBR (that's what I used in my first try: didn't work) Floppy (/dev/fd0) (there is no floppy in this machine iMac) other (I use xfs as filesystem, so I can not choose /dev/hda5, it will corrupt the filesystem). NB: # pdisk -l /dev/hda Segmentation fault # No options left. So I will install no bootloader and integrate SuSE in the Debian yaboot. -- mdc

The bootloader install not working is a known issue. Description + workaround can be found at: http://www.opensuse.org/index.php/PPC:Installation_issue Best, Lode
