Richard Have a look in /etc/mail/access For instance I am using my linux box as a mail server, but when I send mail I am dialed into my Linux via ppp from windows2000, I am a assigned an IP or 192.168.0.5. So I have to add this line to my /etc/mail/access 192.168 RELAY Then you have to rebuild the file into the db format so you do : makemap hash access < access Then you you have to restart sendmail: /etc/rc.d/sendmail stop /etc/rc.d/sendmail start You could use restart instead of stop and then start, but it always fails for me so I do it this way. hth Chris On Sat, 27 May 2000 11:57:25 +0200, Richard Opgenoorth wrote:

Try this sendmail setup script. Someone in this list recommended it to me. Although you might have to do some minor configuring (and i *mean* minor) it does explain what's it's doing and you can have a poke around the script if you're so inclined. Give it a whirl. Um... (1) Convince us that you are running MS Outlook Express on a linux box. (Otherwise, you're on the wrong list.) (2) Explain WHY you would do such a silly thing as give complete strangers the ability to run their custom programs on your computer without even notifying you. (Inherent in Outlook and Outlook Express.) (3) You could enable mail relaying, but this is a bad idea because script kiddies and spammers will happily borrow your facilities. (4) You could make sure that the two boxes consider themselves to be in the same domain - that is, the machine names as represented in the mail headers are the same except for the *first* term. -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/
