Re: Re: [SLE] Xwindow sytem: no mouse, no keyboard, please help
Have you tried the new sax2, located at
ftp2.suse.com/pub/suse/i386/X/Xfree86/XFree86-4.0.2-SuSE/suse70/sax2/sax2-4.1-105.i386.rpm?
Yes. SaX2 will report that it tried to find a driver in 4.0 that recognizes my card. It fails to find a match. Then, it will report that it is also checking with 3.3.6, and accordingly does not find a driver that works with the ATI Radeon.
Also, have you tried xf86config4 and worked through the graphics card and mouse sections there?
I didn't know there was such a thing as xf86config4. All the time that I was trying to set up the Xwindow system, I was using the command "xf86config." I tried a couple of others like xf86cfg, but they wouldn't run or the program wasn't found on my system. _________________________________________________________________________________________ I went ahead yesterday and wiped my hard drive clean. This time I did a minimal install of Suse 7.0. The only programs I have added to the 180 meg. install so far are: 1. allman-- (all man pages collected by Suse) 2. Vim -- (Vi improved) 3. Joe -- (nice and simple text editor) 4. mc --- (midnight commander) I may buy another card that is known to be supported by Xfree86 3.3.6. Not sure yet. Mike michael.flug@snet.net
