[opensuse] "Default" X session in TW
I did a zypper -v up followed by zypper -v dup to 20160914 on a TW/KDE3/KDM3 installation last updated about two months ago. I might never have started this installation in graphical.target before, as kdmrc hadn't been modified by me before tonight, and I normally make fixing it one of the first things I do after a KDE3 installation. I did notice it had kdmrc.old, kdmrc, and kdmrc.rpmnew all with different timestamps, and two different file sizes, indicating some kind of content change occurred recently. Started after the update in graphical.target, I simply logged in, as two different users. This opened a session I could not recognize, with no panel, no apparent access to any type of menus, and some kind of untabbed terminal with no window decorations. Logging out then back in after selecting KDE3 as session worked as expected. /usr/share/xsessions/ has four files: -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 2509 Sep 2 13:34 icewm-session.desktop -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 4353 Sep 2 13:34 icewm.desktop -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 3904 Sep 12 19:11 kde.desktop -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 138 Aug 28 04:54 kodi.desktop 1-was whatever session type this was working as intended? 2-what session type was it? 3-is a new BZ warranted? 4-if 4 is yes, against what component? -- "The wise are known for their understanding, and pleasant words are persuasive."
