Re: [SuSE Linux] WvDial, Rpms, and whatnot
---Reply to Rev. Michael Derek Barnett about [SuSE Linux] WvDial, Rpms, and whatnot
okay, well, i'm apparantly having trouble getting it unzipped and tar'd. for some reason, the file name gets messed up, and it apparantly isn't being read correctly by either gzip or kde's zip manager.
A friend in the UK had the same problem when DLing WvDial with Windoze. You might do better if you connect and DL from SuSE. Assuming you set your ppp network and ISP parameters (generic) in YaST, you should be able to dial out in an xterm window by typing: /etc/suseppp/scripts/ppp-up generic after you DL WvDial, close the connection with: /etc/suseppp/scripts/ppp-down Then go for the un-zip/tar routine. To be on the safe side I'd delete all existing WvDial files, zipped or otherwise, so that only the one received with SuSE exists to work with.
