Re: [SLE] How to get package list?

How can I produce a list of all installed packages
rpm -qa
as well as a list of all files to include filedate and permissions?
If you mean a list of all files in your system you might try something like `find / -ls'. or if you don't know the package name, do the following on a file rpm -qcv `rpm -qf `
Actually, I should have expressed myself better. What I am trying to do is send a list of all remaining installed packeges to a file. Our firewall has all non-esential packages removed. If it becomes necessary to setup a redundant firewall, it would be nice to have a list to refer to for the second machine. What do you mean by, "all remaining installed packages"? Are you referring to all packages installed or all packages not installed? or something else entirely?
I am referring to "all remaining installed packages". When I performed the initial installation of SuSE 6.4, many packages that were not necessary for operation of the machine as a firewall, even though I tried my best to keep the install to a minimum. In that case, start yast, select installation/configuration and save configuration to disk. With the next machine, you'll use that disk and choose the "replace" option. the file on it is plain text, containing names of all packages.
