Did you set the MOZILLA_HOME=/opt/netscape environment variable?
In your .bashrc put "export MOZILLA_HOME=/opt/netscape"; that solves alot of problems.
Which .bashrc ? I found five of them when I did a $ locate .bashrc
Also do I put the quotation marks around the
export MOZILLA_HOME=/opt/netscape
and the semi colon at the end?
I found other "export entries in .bashrc that didn't have the " " and the ;
Just wondering, and trying to do it right.
I assumed you are using bash, most of us new users are. The .bashrc to edit is the one in the home directory of the user who is using netscape. You probably want to put it in /root also, so root has netscape running. If root dosn't have one , login as root and copy /etc/skel/.bashrc to /root/.bashrc. DONT PUT QUOTATIONS around it, they were just in the docs for clarity, which confused you. No semicolon either. Usually in docs they put " " or < > around entries or keystrokes to indicate they are to entered in exactly that way. Also after you save the new .bashrc , you must either logout and relogin as the user, or enter " source .bashrc " ; again without quotations. This tells the system to reread the new .bashrc. zentara -- To get out of this list, please send email to majordomo@suse.com with this text in its body: unsubscribe suse-linux-e
