[opensuse] the software updates app says "18 updates", but zypper patch says 1 optional ?
On Leap15 with Plasma5, the software updates app/applet/whatever says "18 updates", but "zypper lp" says 1 optional. I wonder if the discrepancy is due to my having locked certain packages from installing, but shouldn't the "software updates" thingie take that into account too? -- Per Jessen, Zürich (29.6°C) http://www.hostsuisse.com/ - virtual servers, made in Switzerland. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
Do you have extra repositories? “zypper patch” only checks update repo. Also one patch can easily amount to 18 packages. So if applet only looks for new *packages*, that can easily explain it. Patch != package. Отправлено с iPhone

Aha, that's it - yes, the machine has packman too.

The updater checks for updated packages, zypper lp checks for packages. The best way to find out is to run zypper up and compare the difference.

aha, that was it. pacman had a bunch of updates, not patches. -- Per Jessen, Zürich (27.5°C) http://www.dns24.ch/ - free dynamic DNS, made in Switzerland. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
