The only printer driver I can find is the one installed as default (generic printer).

------------------------------------------------ Glenn, As a new user of SO5.2 and Linux, I too found it difficult to get around some of the settings of this massive program. What I did learn is that this program only supports Postscript printers as Unix has done for ages. Problem is, that most of us do not have a PostScript printer available. I use a HP Deskjet, which I like very much, so that has to work with SO for now. The driver used is indeed the generic driver as that interpets the data, uses Ghostscript to convert it from the Postscript and print to your selected system printer that is attached. Unless you get a Postscript printer, Star Office will not have any drivers for it. If your attached printer is setup correctly for your system, SO will have no problems printing to it using the standard Unix spooler or BSD spooler. Works great here!

Tracer: I was able to find and install a driver that more closely matched my printer. Please see the solution in a later posting. Thanks for your comments. Regards, Glenn -- Glenn Williams - n0hn@abq-nm.com Registered Linux User #135678 Powered by SuSE 7.2 Linux Professional
