I bought my laptop from http://www.powernotebooks.com -- they aren't specifically a "linux notebook vendor", but they WILL sell you a laptop with NO operating system installed [I haven't checked their site recently, but they may even sell a linux distro or two as a side business; dunno if they will do a "pre" install. OTOH, for linux, you probably want to do your own install anyway...] - -- Yet another Blog: http://osnut.homelinux.net -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.2-rc1-SuSE (GNU/Linux) Comment: http://osnut.homelinux.net/TomEmerson.asc iD8DBQE+psqrV/YHUqq2SwsRAjjXAJ49GWHpnRM6efpDGUxYX0qFZtISDQCghPUN GdFdumrpN/xrWwIniHsq5+s= =wqam -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----

i only stick with the laptops on the HCL lists.......ibm, dell, compaq, etc.......see which one you get the best price on..but do follow the hcl I hate it when people nag about laptops not working, then you ask what they have and it isn't on the hcl list
