I sometimes rlogin into my home machine from work machine (Sun Ultra 10 with Solaris.) and I use a xterm to do this. Unfortunately, the text in the xterm is distorted when I run lynx. Also, when I "cat" or "more" a text file, the text appears like it has been selected. Does this have to do with my machine not recognizing that I am using an xterm?

Is there a way to correct this? Any help will be much appreciated.

The file /usr/lib/terminfo/x/xterm doesn't understand the Sun xterm correct. I've had the same problem on RH 5.1 as well, but the current snapshot of Debian 2.2 has a correct terminfo file! So I copied it over to my SuSE6.0 box, and it works great! :-) I can send it to you if you want to. Just send me an email. There may be another solution to this. The directory /usr/lib/terminfo/x/ contains over thirty files, one of which is called "xterm-sun". Maybe if you rename this to "xterm" (remember to save a copy of the old xterm first! ;-) ), it will do the trick? I haven't tried this.
