Hi all, I have a "SMC EZ Connect 802.11g" wireless usb lan card, it works great using ndiswrapper package but when I unplug it the system hangs. Even, When I issue the command: "modprobe -r ndiswrapper" and then unplug the card, the system hangs. The only way that system doesn't hang with it is the interval between issuing command above and unplugging is very short. It seems SuSE 10 reloads ndiswrapper if it sees that the card is in slot yet (dmesg also says this); So, How can I unplug network card without this problem? Any help will be appreciated, Habib

Have you tried doing "ifdown XXX" (where XXX is the interface, e.g., eth0) before unplugging the card? Granted, hal should probably be doing this for you, but doing the above command manually might move you toward fixing hal to work. hth, ken Habib Seifzadeh wrote:

Yes, I did that, but it didn't solve the problem. About hal, I stoped hal, but the problem stayed. I think it's because of usbcore module, How can I unload it? __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Tired of spam? Yahoo! rmmod usbcore But if other modules depend on it, you'll have to rmmod them first. hth, ken -- "This world ain't big enough for the both of us," said the big noema to the little noema.
