I think it would try to download so much that you will be better off downloading the latest SUSE (9.3 or 10, which is almost out) - does Novell still support SUSE 8?
Hello, SUSE Linux 8.0 was be discontinued for all architectures in June 2004. Check this out: http://lists.suse.com/archive/suse-security-announce/2004-Jun/0004.html It seems you have to upgrade it to 9.3 (last most stable) or SUSE 10.0 I recommend installing 9.3 or wait a few more days for 10.0 final. Enterprise Server 8 yes (updates are on sdb.suse.de/download) SUSE Linux Professional 8.x, no

If you're talking about SuSE Pro, you would need to modify the YouPath string in the single file you find under /var/adm/YaST/ProdDB to include the discontinued node. Then, you could only update from ftp.suse.com (discontinued releases aren't mirrored). Greg Wallace
