[Newbie]Not detecting Another partition..
Hi, My system does not detect another partition which is the system, Win2000(fat32). Since my /etc/fstab doesn't have '/dev/hda1...', I included like this, /dev/hda /windows/C umask=2 user, noauto 0 0 and then, I added hard disk icon. When I tried to mount, It shows this message, Could not mount device. The reported error was: mount: mount point /windows/C does not exist. Can anyone tell me what I can do to fix this problem...? Best Regards, Shin. _________________________________________________________________ Protect your PC - get McAfee.com VirusScan Online http://clinic.mcafee.com/clinic/ibuy/campaign.asp?cid=3963
The file should read: /dev/hda1 /windows/C auto user, noauto 0 0 ...because the format of an fstab entry is: <what to mount> <where to mount it> <what filesystem> <options> ... thusly, make sure /windows/C exists... you can create it by running 'mkdir /windows/C', but you will only be allowed to do that as root.
