lilo and Solaris 8
Hi gang, I have lilo in the MBR of my system, happily booting SuSE 6.4 and Win98. I recently put in a disk with Solaris 8x86, but can't get lilo to boot it - lilo -t -v complains that the partition table of the Solaris disk is invalid. I am aware that there are some other issues to do with booting Solaris, but am obviously not getting far enough for those to apply. Is my current version of lilo (lilo-21-89) not coping with the Solaris partition table? Poking around the net seems to reveal people happily booting Solaris 7, but not much about 8. Anyone out there doing this succesfully? Thanks all Fergus

Here's a shot in the dark: is your kernel compiled with support for Solaris partition tables? I don't know whether it is by default, or even whether this will effect LILO, but it may be worth a look.
