[SuSE Linux] My italian keyboard can speaks greek
Good Morning, 8:20, here I received my SuSE 6.0 saturday. The 5.3 setup was better than the 6.0. I did a fresh install for the 6.0, not an upgrade. The first thing I happen to face was (and still I'm a facing it). My keyboard is of the QWERTY type (the type depends on the first six letter on the keyboard, so you can have qwerty qwertz and azerty which correspond to english german and france keyboards) with the necessary accented letters (egrave, eacute ecc.) on the left of the "enter" button. In YaST I chosed "qwerty-it", tried out and I got a few greek letters, namely: alpha, capitol Phi, theta ecc. Well, it may be useful when I type math symbol in latex, but I happen more often to use accented letters and i still prefer to type an è instead of \'e. The same behaviour happens with "qwerty-ibm" and "qwerty-it2", but didn't happen with SuSE 5.3. When I am in an X window I have a full italian keyboard. There are other oddities but I will further investigate before posting to this list and to the customer support. Suggestions? TIA Maurizio. P.S. I noticed that in the 5.3 manual and in also in the 6.0 manual the name of Lenz Grimmer is not mentioned! Don't worry, Lenz, I just corrected it ;-) P.P.S There is also an nice sticker with the SuSE logo. Very nice...if my keyboard talks italian... Unfortunately not. I am no expert in this area... I've forwarded your note to feedback@suse.de for further investigation.
