So how do you get it for SuSE? Apt-get? I can't get apt-get to work and I'm beginning to wonder whether I should just switch to FreeBSD. Part of the reason I paid for a distribution was to get upgrades, etc. Red Hat offers them. Why doesn't SuSE offer these updates and make this easier?

1) maybe it's a good idea to tell us why apt-get doesn't work (errors etc etc 2) manually is also simple: rpm -Uvh ftp://ftp.gwdg.de/pub/linux/suse/ftp.suse.com/projects/mozilla/1.1/8.0/mozill a-1.1-0.i386.rpm Just for your information: RH is not offering any rpm's for Mozilla so far as i know. -- greetz, Frederik Vos www.vosberg.be

Sorry for the dual mailing, Fredrick. I didn't get this one till second, this one having the SuSE mailing list CC in it as well. I tried #2. It didn't work, because Galeon and Nautilus depended on Mozilla. Preston

Hi everyone. www.mozilla.org has a 12Mb tarball. Works fine with SuSE 8. But I think that the issue is beyond this thread. I'm fortunate enough to have ADSL but even then it took me 8 hours to download and install the apt stuff so that apt-get would work for me. Maybe they do not have a fast connection. I think that the original post was referring to try to keep up to date. In the Linux environment I don't think you can be at the bleeding edge unless you have loads of time to spare. What's nice though is to be able to have the opportunity to do so! Cheers, Steve.
I use red-carpet with Ximian Gnome -- never had a problem in over a year. On Thu, 2002-08-29 at 13:44, steve wrote:

That's fine if you use Ximian GNOME, not everyone does, or wants to...
