What would the OS version - aside from checking for it - have anything to do with the working or not working of an app?
I assume many libraries or programs OOo relies on are just missing, and/or would bring dependancies confilcts if you try to upgrade them.
OS X has the same, some programs require 10.5.x to work.

Oh, okay. I understand that from the Wintendo world, but had understood Linux/UNIX applications to be independent of the OS for the most part.
From what I heard - I think on this list - OOo is a desktop in itself.

They are in part. But they are not independent of the libraries they use and if there have been changes (which I'm shure have happened) then there is a chance that the application won't run. The second question is, what do you call the OS? Philipp -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
