Re: [SLE] 7.1 kernel 2.4.0 problem

I really don't mean to be rude, but.... I consider it bad form to be attaching image files to posts on this list. I was wondering why my mail server was taking so long and saw that someone had included an image file. There are other ways you could show your problem than attaching an image file. Please cut/paste the text to an email window next time, please. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Gerrit Jan Eldering" <wavesurf@cistron.nl> To: <suse-linux-e@suse.com> Sent: Thursday, March 15, 2001 1:57 AM Subject: Re: [SLE] 7.1 kernel 2.4.0 problem

In the future please *don't* post binary attachments to the list as this is frowned upon not only here but on most mailing lists. It's especially unnecessary for ascii output like yours. To get those messages as a text file, do something like this: make bzlilo 2>&1 |tee mlog this will put all output from make and the compiler into a file named mlog which you then may easily incorporate into your mail. BTW, if you compile more regularly, I'd put something like the following in your ~/.bashrc: mk() { make "$@" 2>&1|tee mlog; } from then on just use mk instead of make and the output will always be logged :) -- Penguins to save the dinosaurs -- Handelsblatt on Linux for S/390
