Printer configuration in CUPS
God evening folks. Yesterday I updated our home server to 8.1. After the update I spend several hours to get my system back to working condition. The Cd drive did not work anymore, had to replace the link from /dev/cdrom to /dev/hdd, with a link to /dev/sr1 (my cd-toaster id is at sr0) Online update fucked up several times, but at least the problems was described in the Support Database. kdmrc was lost (again) so it was not possible to get a graphical login to KDE or Gnome. Now I would like to configure my printes, but there is no icon for that in YaST - is there not supposed to such a thingie anymore? I know that lprng have now been replaced with CUPS in default configuration, so I would like to give it a try, but please give me a hit about where to configure it. klaus@minister:~> rpm -qa | grep -i CUPS cups-libs-1.1.15-46 yast2-agent-cups-2.5.6-31 yast2-config-cups-2.5.16-49 yast2-trans-cups-2.5.14-8 kdelibs3-cups-3.0.4-5 cups-client-1.1.15-46 cups-drivers-stp-1.1.15-66 cups-1.1.15-46 cups-drivers-1.1.15-66 The yast2 entries do indicate that yast should be able to configure cups printers, but where? -- Regards Klaus Slott

I guess that now I only need to find out why kmail crashes several times every day. no btw: CUPS wont print landscape from a2ps or any other textmode application I tried - more bugs! -- Regards Klaus Vink Slott
