This is new.... I'm getting this on the KDE update applet - I had issues with it after a fresh install. Initially it was erroring out, complaining that the RPM database was locked by a process. I cleaned that up, and after a clean boot, it comes up and says packages need to be updated. If I click the red icon, then I see this error: ============================== DBus error : org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.AccessDenied : Rejected send message, 1 matched rules; type="method_call", sender=":1.21" (uid=1000 pid=4251 comm="/usr/bin/kupdateapplet ") interface="org.freedesktop.PackageKit.Transaction" member="WhatProvides" error name="(unset)" requested_reply=0 destination="org.freedesktop.PackageKit" (uid=0 pid=23590 comm="/usr/sbin/packagekitd ")) ============================== So.. something is not quite right, but I am not sure what nor how to go about finding out exactly what is wrong. Any advice? C. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

This came out in the Spanish mail list, and this link came out - try: <http://forums.opensuse.org/applications/411716-online-update-not-working-os11-1-a.html> - -- Cheers, Carlos E. Hmmm.. in the process of installing the zyyp plugin, I noticed a few of the libs for PackageKit had changed in the day or so since I last looked there. I updated those as well as installing the kupdateapp-zypp plugin. Restarted the updater, and tried it using the defautl PackageKit... and it works. It seems I caught myself in between updates... part of PackageKit was updated, and part wasn't (2 libs missed). So... still running on the default PackageKit, and it's working again. Thanks for the nudge :-) C -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
